Homeowner’s Insurance sky high? Do this.

Fact: 90% of homeowners in 2023 saw their annual premium increase compared to the previous year.

But unlike the price of eggs or gas, there are a few simple things you (and a great local agent) can do to keep tabs on your homeowner’s insurance costs:

✓ Raise your deductible

✓ Drop non-essential coverage

✓ Avoid making small claims – your claims history directly impacts your cost

✓ Shop around every year – it’s worth it!

✓ Reinforce your property – think home security systems or wind mitigation features

Have questions? Reach out! We can refer you to great local insurance agents who will gladly shop multiple carriers to get you the coverage you need at rates you feel great about.

We Have a New Addition to the Team!

We’re excited to announce that our team has expanded! Introducing Nash Petusky! A Georgia native and Brookhaven resident, Nash comes from a long line of successful real estate developers. He began his real estate career in college with an internship with BRK Development LLC, a development firm responsible for developing single-family and mixed-use projects in the coastal panhandle of Florida.

Nash spent years in the brokerage divisions of The Moore Company, Marcus & Millichap Inc, and Sullivan Wickley Properties before branching out and founding the brokerage and investment group of Arbor Property Group, LLC, of which he is still the Managing Broker. He has represented private and institutional clients in their acquisition and disposition efforts of income-producing investment real estate. These sectors included retail, office, industrial, and residential properties.

In his free time, Nash enjoys being active outdoors, surfing, reading, Alabama Crimson Tide football, and spending time with his wife Rachelle and two sons, Robert and Johnny. Nash is excited to join the ranks of the Byron Williamson Team at Keller Williams, where he is looking to work with more residential clients.

U.S. homeowners have an average of $274,000 in equity

Have some equity built up in your home? That’s much to celebrate! It might be time to put it to work for you! Here are three ways to get started:

Renovate and renew

Has your kitchen been begging for an upgrade? Or does your living room need a modern twist? Your equity can foot the bill for those long-awaited renovations and boost the value of your home while you’re at it!

Move up without selling out

Found your dream home but don’t want to say goodbye to your current property? That equity can open doors to a new home without parting ways with your current one. Plus, you can rent out your current home for an additional income stream.

Long-term investing

Whether it’s starting a business, funding your or your child’s education, or venturing into the world of investments, your home’s equity is a resource that can be put to work!
